"Where'd you come up with the name?"

Homing Pigeon was the name of the B-17 Flying Fortress piloted by Lt. C. G. Lemmons during World War II. Lemmons, dubbed "Lucky Lem" by his crew, flew thirty-one missions over enemy territory from the base of the 401st Bomb Group at Deenethorpe, England, from May to August, 1944. His proudest accomplishment, as related to his children in later years, was that he "never lost a man."

Just as Lemmons and his crew depended on their aircraft to get them home from combat, I think we depend on stories to give us our destination in life. Our stories define us: They tell us who our heroes are, what sort of journey we're on, and where we hope to end up. Homing Pigeon Publishing is dedicated to telling good stories ... and helping us find our way back home.
